12 Tips for the Day

Sometimes life moves at a very fast pace so today we’re going to give you a very fast paced newsletter with some quick hitting tips to get you fired up for life and training. It will also update you on where the newsletter is, new products and what we’ve been doing for the last couple of days.

1. Thanks to everybody who donated in our Katrina Relief effort and also to those who participated in the sale and received their discounts for donating to those in need. You did a good thing and God rewards those things.

2. The people you hang around with and the information you’re exposed to now will determine where you go in the next five years. Search through your life and determine if you’re on track for where you want to be. If you have set goals and if you have the people and know how in place to get them done. We just spent the last two days visiting Dennis Rogers while he performed at Community Life Church in Port Charlotte, Florida.

This is a flat out example of having a great time by being around good positive people who are excellent at what they do. When you do this you invest in yourself. When you do it with spiritual people you invest in eternity.

3. Faith is the essence of a powerful life. Develop your own and get around people who have it. It will not only bring peace to your mental and daily life it will lead you to your greatest effect on eternity and fulfillment of the physical goals.

4. We’re sending this quick newsletter out because we’ve been traveling and very busy. We started a series in the regular newsletter on the qualities of great men. We’ll pick that back up soon and finish it.

5. Being in great shape is part of being tremendously strong. If you ever get a chance to go watch Dennis in a show you’ll see him perform feat after feat that almost no one else can do under any circumstances with little or no rest between them. All the while speaking to a crowd. You have to be in shape to do that.

6. There’s a lot to learn from legitimate show-style professional strongman and their training. Unfortunately there are only a few people to me whom qualify as legitimate, serious performing professionals. Let me just give you some quick words on what you need. Tremendous hand strength, tremendous overall body strength (this weekend I watched Dennis do what was essentially a full range deadlift high pull with one finger with a refrigerator that was nearly double his bodyweight). Great muscular and cardiovascular endurance and development of your own unique potentials.

7. Remember that growth is not always a comfortable process. Whether it is physically, mentally or spiritually. They are rarely steady, often difficult, most of the time requiring serious and uncomfortable effort. Also necessary is balancing the individual aspects of these qualities and the qualities themselves. Work, rest and nutrition. Pushing forward, stabilizing and pushing again. Being well rounded not just one-sided.

8. Let’s remember to keep in mind and in our prayers those potentially in harms way with hurricane Rita. Dennis, a large part of his family and is home is in Houston. They’re all evacuated and safe, but the situation is still serious and even more so for those who haven’t already gotten out. This is where faith hits reality. Let’s continue to pray.

9. Remember to use specific variety in your training. That sounds like an oxymoron, but what it means is this. Pick those things that you truly care about and practice them all of the time in the same specific style so that you get great at them and have a consistent tool to measure your progress with. The other things you do in training should contain a wide variety to keep your interest up, to build general multi-angular and faceted strength to avoid overuse injuries and to build balanced musculature. For instance squat, press or pull in a major exercise and use that one regularly. But occasionally try it with other styles and implements. Bend in one major style, but also work it from many different angles and styles to build all around strength. Mix up your styles from set to set of bodyweight exercises, because you’re doing them for high reps anyway. So doing so creates the same conditioning effect, but lessens the chance that it damages your joints and builds greater all around musculature and ability.

10. Use Partial Movement training. This is why we put out this brand new DVD on it, because it really is a secret to getting beyond the normal levels of strength. Partial Movement training is like what they used to say about Sam Colt, the inventor of the Colt .45. People used to say God created all men, and Sam Colt made them all equal. What they meant was that he created a tool that worked no matter what your physical situation. I believe Partial Movement Training to be just like this. No matter what you’re doing if you consistently and intelligently apply this training especially with progressive movement you can and will get much stronger. I believe it has the potential to literally build your system to the point that it’s almost like a genetic upgrade and give you the ability to accomplish things that the original version didn’t believe was possible. That’s why we called it a “Secret of My Strength.” Now you can get it too, because we put the most detailed treatment of partial movements ever assembled together right there for you.

11. Strength and Endurance is great, but the most important thing is that you know God the Father through salvation in Jesus Christ. When I say this it’s never meant to offend anyone. It’s what I believe in. I believe that if I didn’t share that with you I would have wronged you by not telling you.

12. Make your training and your life fun! Fun is a big factor in keeping it coming back for more. If you are not satisfied with your life, change it so you get some real enjoyment out of it. Take care of those around you. Use the force… oops… sorry… that’s a different movie. Be great at something! Be great as a human being.
